Porsche tries selling its cars online in the US

You can follow the process on the merchant sites on desktops and mobile devices. No wonder that Porsche is considering expanding access if the pilot proves successful. At the same time, a similar program is starting in Germany.

This is not quite as far-reaching as Tesla. With the EV Builder, you can order customized cars and deliver them to your home if you are too far away from one of its service centers. The strategy focuses mainly on online sales, where Porsche is still tied to the dealer model. This is still better than having to withstand the pressures of salespeople during a personal visit, and it makes sense for Porsche to position the Taycan and future electric vehicles as Tesla alternatives – the shopping experience will be all the tighter.
